London Movie Inspiration!

Travel inspiration is something that I do not take lightly. Whether it’s photos, songs, or movies, getting inspired before a trip really gets me excited and helps with the packing, planning, etc.

Liberty London

Today, the morning before I move to London, I’m sharing Movies set in London that will give you some major INSPO! For a trip, or, if you’re me, for a big move! They’ll all help set the mood for London travel, and some of them have famous sites you can actually visit!

Notting Hill
A true classic. Set in the famous and cutest neighborhood of Notting Hill. Lots of colorful facades and cute homes you’ll want to live in. It will get you in the mood for strolling around and getting lost. Google filming locations to see while you’re there!

Love Actually
A CHRISTMAS classic! Also the second film with Hugh Grant on this list. Honestly just watch a Hugh Grant movie and that'll be inspo enough. Love actually takes place all over London (and a bit of France) and really gives you a Christmas dose of British actors, love, and drama. With some fab scenes in Heathrow airport, you’ll really be excited to arrive at the airport! Plus, there is a cute pink home in one of the scenes that you can visit, also located in Notting Hill.

Sliding Doors
So this film stars Gwen Paltrow, who is not British, but she does act with a British accent, so I’ll take it. Not necessarily great shots of the city, but a great movie all around, and it is set in London!

Me Before You
This movie is SAD and not in London. But it is very sweet and located somewhere in the countryside, it will inspire you get out of the city! Plus, it features Khaleesi. Not the character, but Emilia Clarke, who will charm your socks off.

About Time
I've watched this movie a thousand times and it is so cute. Taking place in Cornwall and London, it's about an American girl and English boy falling in love -- perfect for me. There's a fab scene in a London Underground, and they do a lot of wandering through cute neighborhoods.

Imagine Me and You
Another Game of Thrones cameo, Cersei Lannister plays a sweet, lesbian flower shop owner. This film is adorable and while inspire you to move to London, and open your own flower shop on a corner.

Bend it like Beckham
Jonathan Rhys Meyers is in this movie, so that's enough. But also, it's an inspiring movie that teaches you a lot about the immigrants living in London. The people that made this also made the new movie "Blinded by the Light" about a Pakistani boy living in England who loves Bruce Springsteen, also very good. Anywho, this film, set in Hounslow, also gets you hyped about the English football scene!

I hope this list gets you excited and inspired about not only watching British films, but planning an English getaway.

xoxo
Lisa
