Christmas Treats, Oh Christmas Treats

Christmas, obviously, is the most wonderful time of the year. One of my favorite ways to celebrate the season surrounding the birth of little baby Jesus, is by going to festive cafes and ordering Christmassy treats while ogling over (and crying over) the beautiful Christmas fairy lights!

Here's a quick list of my favorite festive places for Christmas treats in Dublin!

1 - BEWLEYS

Bewley's Cafe is located on the ever popular Grafton Street. Grafton is decked to the nines for Christmas so on your way in, you'll see lights hanging over the street and even pass the Christmas windows at Brown Thomas (the ~boujee~ department store of Dublin). Once inside there's fabulous decor and a glorious Christmas tree.

Apparently, this means Happy Christmas in Irish.
Look how cultured I've become.

I love to walk around here and pretend I'm buying gifts
when in reality, I'm broke.

The food and drinks at Bewley's are already amazing. Their pastries are also to die for. But, at Christmas, my favorite treats are the special hot chocolates. Each hot chocolate comes with a tray of decorations so you can decorate your hot coco as festive as you like. There is a reindeer hot chocolate, Christmas sparkle hot chocolate, honeycomb, and a few more!

You get cream, marshmallows, white chocolate,
and some golden candy things (which are yummy).

My gorgeous creation.

Major plus here: Bewley's is mentioned in the book version of P.S. I Love You. Head on down and think about falling in love with an Irish man (minus the brain tumor bit though.)

2 - THE SWEETEST THING

A cafe with Dublin's (possibly self-proclaimed) best hot chocolate, this place is a go-to for all things sweet. Hence the name, I guess. Theres some bomb cake, including a hot fudge slice with ice cream that melts in your mouth. If I could put the happy drooling emoji here, I would. The drinks are also delicious. Hot chocolate is obviously a hot seller, but baileys coffees, and vanilla lattes are also worth a try. The Christmas kick here is all the lovely decor. The Sweetest Thing always exudes a homey comfy vibe, but around the holidays there are santas everywhere, decorations on the sill, and even fake snow on the windows.

Definitely didn't get this photo
from my Instagram story.
Check out that ambiance though.

Idk, maybe it's a self-proclaimed best hot chocolate title,
but it's pretty delicious, I'll give it to them.

3 - PEPPER POT CAFE

This cafe has some of the most delicious eggs I have ever had in my life. There's nothing Christmassy about them, but they are soooo good. The Victoria Sponge cake is almost a big recommendation. Yummy food aside, though, this cafe is unique because of its "open" floor plan on the second floor of the Powercourt Townhouse Centre off South William Street. You're able to people watch and see the entire middle area of the shopping centre, WHICH has tons of lights for Christmas. The already cutesy vibes of Pepper Pot are escalated at the holidays with the fairy lights twinkling everywhere. I would suggest going a bit before close in the winter when the sun is setting so the fairy lights really glow. Bonus points to Pepper Pot is that once you're finished with your yummy treats you can head to Pygmalion, the popular bar, for 2 for 1 also delicious cocktails!!!!!

These places are all so yummy and definitely worth a visit if you're in Dublin. Christmas or not they are fab.
